in-house rental items
smARTspace at 78th is a "DIY" space, requiring rental of most items for your event (tables, chairs, linens, etc). While you are welcome to hire any rental company to deliver items, we have a variety of in-house items available to rent at rates around 20% lower than other sources with no delivery fee. general scheduling
Included in your space rental rate:
Business day (Monday-Friday*) immediately prior to your event = rental deliveries/set up**
Day of event
Pre-event pre-scheduled time for vendor arrivals (caterer, etc.)
EVENT time
One hour post-event for priority tear-down
First business day (Monday-Friday*) immediately following your event = rental pickups/additional tear down time if needed
*smARTspace at 78th is closed Saturdays and Sundays except during event rentals.
** You/your hired event coordinator will arrange arrival/departure appointments for each of your vendors so that we can provide scheduled access to the space.
alcohol policy
Alcohol must be served through a licensed, insured caterer, and event clients much carry event insurance with host liquor liability coverage. Security must also be hired for the duration of the event. Open-to-the-public or ticketed events must also secure a liquor permit (see below).
liquor permit
Per the State of Ohio, a permit is required for alcoholic beverage sales by the drink or through the use of an entrance fee, cover charge, etc. No permit is required if an individual or organization intends to provide beer, wine or spirituous liquor at a private function where access is restricted to invited guests only, such as a wedding reception for which no admission fee is charged or any alcoholic beverages sold. insurance
All event rentals are required to provide Certificate of Insurance for general comprehensive or commercial general liability insurance (including contractual liability coverage and, if applicable, host liquor liability coverage) in the amount of $1 million. Check with your personal agent or

smARTspace at 78th event clients are responsible for directly hiring security for:
* Events open to the public
* Private events during which alcohol is served
* Private events with attendance of 100+
